Stupidest name I ever heard: Stride Gum!
Stride makes me think of walking, shoes--and gum stuck to the bottom of them.
Stupidest slogan also belongs to Stride Gum:Ridiculously long lasting. Ridiculous is a negative word!

Tip o' the hat to charles for impliyng that I may be wise. I don't think I'd go so far as to say that Uncle Ben's should be renamed, but I'd certainly explore it. There's a massive amount of brand equity in the name so any change could set them back significantly. One of the areas I'd probably explore would be a change in the fictional character's name from the implied first name of Ben to a last name of Benjamin and providing a new first name to fill in the gap. A major concern for the brand was that the character wasn't a Mr. or Mrs. and didn't have a last name. The implication is that it was a slave name By fully fleshing out the identity and making it deeper (e.g., Uncle Jeremiah Benjamin AKA Uncle Ben ) and giving him a persona to fit I think they could've kept the company name and adjusted the character's positioning a little less severely. My thoughts on the new branding effort? Well, it does seem awfully peculiar to have a CEO go by his first name to people other than his kids. And that's probably where I would've looked if I'd taken this path At work he's Mr. Benjamin, but when he's with family he's Uncle Ben. I'll be interested to see if they adjust their marketing in this fashion as the new identity isn't very well received

My husband wlduon't help me either. I kept coming up with name ideas and he would only say he didn't really like them, but when I asked for his input he wlduon't have any ideas. So I stuck with the first name that I really liked and kept trying different middle names. I finally found a middle name that I just loved and I wrote it down and showed it to him. He looked at it and said he liked it. That was the first name suggestion he liked, he never even liked the first name until I paired it with that middle name. Was this answer helpful?

Re: " figure out how to pronounce, spell or explain". I agree that this is not a good name, but I think we can focus in more on where the problem lies. IMO, it' not pronunciation: if I read it out loud, it would go "ecks-SIGH-go", and I don't think there are a lot of other candidates for pronunciation.
The problem comes in the other direction, with spelling: every time I say "ecks-SIGH-go", I also have to spell Xsigo, otherwise my auditor will likely have trouble spelling(and therefore, finding) the firm's name.
